Dress–Rubies and Pearls Boutique, Shoes-Stuart Weitzman (previous season), Bag–Chanel
How was your weekend loves? I’ve been enjoying the beautiful spring weather by taking my dogs on extra-long walks, and jogging around beautiful Lake Eola lately. I have to take advantage of this nice weather before that brutal Florida summer kicks in (some days it feels like it already has!)
It may be Spring, but the little black dress is a transeasonal classic. A versatile wardrobe essential if there ever was one, the LBD can get you through work functions, dinners, aa night out, and even weddings, depending on the style. Just as fashion trends change though, so does the LBD. I’m always on the lookout for the perfect one too, and this one by Rubies and Pearls Boutique comes pretty close (and for the crazy low price of $28).
No matter what your fashion style may be, and no matter the occasion, there are little black dresses to suit everyone. Short-length LBD’s are still a fun, sexy “going out” dress option, butthe most popular version is probably the midi (as seen here). It offers a flattering and more versatile alternative to its shorter counterpart. Another prominent style for the season, again showcased here, is the off-the-shoulder silhouette. The previous trend flatters most women’s bodies too (I, for one, feel this style makes my arms look smaller— a definite plus!)
The LBD at hand is super flattering in part thanks to its stretchy and fitted, pullover style. I felt like it emphasized my waist and helped create a nice hour-glass shape.
Here I have styled the LBD as an ideal dinner dress, although if you paired it with a casual blazer, and perhaps a pair of pumps, it could easily transform into a great staple for work and meetings.
I opted to pair the dress with a classic, black chained bag and a black heeled sandal (black or nude heels are so effortless, yet always look polished). The shoes I’m wearing are Stuart Weitzman of two seasons ago and are no longer available, but I found a similar pair, textured leather and all (see “Shop my look” below).
Other current trends for the little black dress include the 90s tribute slip dress; sheer panel insets; plunging necklines; and asymmetrical hemlines. Lace details, as well as strappy, are also a hit this season (see “Other Options” below for a curated guide on LBD it styles ).
That about sums it up ladies! What’s your favorite LBD style of the moment?! Comment below, I’d love to hear. Also! Be sure to check out the latest give-away on my Instagram. I’ve teamed up with the chic brand Elan to give away a gorgeous summer maxi dress to you AND a best friend!
